 ADMISSION, ENROLLMENT and SCHEDULE OF CLASSES

The Institute follows a highly selective and stringent student screening and selection process, premised on excellence and access. Students come from different kinds of organizations (business, public and non-profit). A desired number of students is admitted every semester in May for the 1st Semester (June class opening) and October for the 2nd Semester (November class opening). The Institute sets the ideal class size of twelve to fifteen for maximum student learning and interaction.

Application Period: February to May for the 1st Semester; August to October for the 2nd Semester
Admission Test (GPAT and Essay): You may take the exam either on 12 April 2012 (Thursday),  2 May 2012 (Wednesday), or 4 June 2012 (Monday) for the 1st Semester, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Room 302 Institute of Management, UP Baguio, Gov. Pack Road, Baguio City

Schedule of Bridging Courses: Accounting for Non-Accountants (May 12 to 25, 2012), Mathematics for Economics and Managers (May 19 to June 1, 2012), Organizational Communication (June 2 to 3, 2012)

Enrollment: 6 to 7 June 2012 (Wednesday to Thursday)08
Classes start: 13 June 2012 (Wednesday)08

Stage 1: Basic Admission Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree/title (any field) from a university or from other recognized institutions of higher learning
  • Must have at least two years of relevant work experience

Applicants who meet these requirements will be allowed to take the entrance examination.

Stage 2: Pass Entrance Exam

  • Test, 60% - Applicants need to take the Graduate Proficiency and Aptitude Test (GPAT). The test covers logical thinking, basic quantitative skills and reading proficiency. Applicants who have taken the GMAT or GRE can submit their test results as substitute for the GPAT.
  • Essay, 40% - The essay basically tests the applicant's writing skills.

Applicants who meet cut-off score/grade set by the admissions committee move on to Stage 3.

Stage 3: Interview

  • Interview by the members of the admissions committee to assess the potential student's maturity for graduate work and fitness for the program.

Applicants who pass the interview are accepted in the program.**

Stage 4: Assessment of the General Weighted Average (Bachelor's degree) vis-a -vis Admission Test and Interview Results

** Students who are assessed to be wanting and/or deficient in the following areas: economics, accounting, statistics and business communication, are conditionally accepted in the program. They are required to enroll in the bridging program which is in summer (May) or semestral (October) break. Fees shall be collected to pay the services of lecturers who shall either be management practitioners or faculty members/invited lecturers.

The following credentials are to be submitted with the application form and three (3) references before an applicant is allowed to take the admission test.

  • Transcript of Records of undergraduate and graduate work, original and one (1) photocopy. (Validity of OTR will be determined from the remarks indicated thereof.)
  • Accomplished Reference Report Form from one (1) employer/immediate supervisor and two (2) teacher references.
  • Recent 2" x 2" Photo (4 copies)
  • For working students, an official permit from their employer/supervisor indicating the maximum number of units they are allowed to enroll.
  • For married women, two (2) photocopies of their Marriage Contract
  • Birth Certificate (2 copies)
  • Application and testing fee of PhP 200.

Applicants who pass the interview are accepted in the program.**
