The Revitalized General Education Program (RGEP) of the University of the Philippines System is a basic general education or liberal arts program which makes up the first two years of a baccalaureate (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science) curriculum. In general, it aims to provide students a broad perspective grounded both in the arts and in the sciences. It is the liberal arts education that makes the UP student a well-rounded person, ready for lifelong learning skills.
Students must take a minimum of 15 units from each of the 3 domains for a total of 45 units.
The 3 domains of knowledge are:
Arts and Humanities (15 units)
Social Sciences and Philosophy (15 units)
Natural Sciences and Mathematics (15 units)

II Asia and the World. A study of Asian cultural heritage in relation to world civilization. 3u
3 History of Philippine Ethnic Minorities. An introduction to the history, society and institutions of Philippine Ethnic Minorities. 3u.
I Philosophical Analysis. Application of basic concepts, skills and principles drawn from the Philosophy of Language, Symbolic Logic, Epistemology, Philosophy of Science and Ethics. 3u.
27 Philosophizing on Being Human. Various philosophical notions and interpretations of human identity and the human condition. (Preferred year level: 2nd year and above). 3u.
10 Psychology for Everyday Life. Application of psychological principles for an understanding of self and of others. 3u.
I Foundations of Behavioral Sciences. A survey of basic concepts, principles, theories and methods of behavioral sciences (Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Political Science, Economics, including Linguistics, Demography & Geography) and the dynamics of social change. 3u.
II Social, Economic and Political Thought. A survey of social, economic, ad political thought from the classical to contemporary times. 3u.
10 The Filipino Family. Structure and dynamics in the the Filipino family in the context of changing socio-economic realities. 3u.
13 Gender and Society. Concepts, perspectives, legislation/policies and issues on gender. 3u.
30 Notions of Justice. Various notions of justice, its elements, applications and critique. (preferred year level: 2nd year and above). 3u.
