DIGITAL INNOVATION CENTER

The Digital Innovation Center aims to upgrade and maintain its ICT services by enhancing equipment, information systems, and networks while also providing necessary training for users. This includes acquiring and implementing ICT equipment and service upgrades to ensure efficiency and modernization. Additionally, the University seeks to adopt UP-developed information systems tailored to its specific needs and functions. Efforts will also focus on facilitating interconnectivity within and outside the campus to improve resource utilization and facility management, leading to a more efficient and secure environment. Furthermore, the University will provide guidance on acquiring appropriate equipment and installing smart campus services to support its digital transformation initiatives.

Service and Programs


a. Network Services

  1. Aruba Campus Network
    The SNO and DIC works together to ensure a fast, reliable, and secure internet connection for UP Baguio. In this function, the DIC manages the Aruba Campus
    Network that enables a single Wi-Fi connection across UP Baguio and continues to deploy Access Points to attain 100% Wi-Fi connectivity.
  2. Eduroam
    The DIC manages eduroam, an international Wi-Fi internet access roaming service for users in research and higher education that provides researchers, faculty, staff and students with easy and secure network access when visiting participating universities and research institutes locally and internationally.

b. Support Services

  1.  Academic Management Information System (AMIS)
    The DIC works with the Office of the University Registrar in the development of AMIS. Recently, the DIC helped develop the Form 5 generation system for
    UP Baguio.
  2. Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Website
    To ensure transparency and compliance with the Procurement Law, the DIC provides support to the BAC through the development and maintenance of the BAC Website and posting of procurement documents and activities.
  3. Budget Utilization and Liquidation System Analytics (BULSA)
    The DIC provides helpdesk support to all offices ensuring a smooth transition to BULSA.
  4. RFID, Online Clearance for Employees, and Daily Time Record (DTR)
    The DIC provides support to the Human Resources Development Office (HRDO) through the processing of Employee RFIDs, development and maintenance of the University Clearance for Employees, and the upgrading of the DTR utilized by the non-teaching staff of UP Baguio.
  5. Synology Network-Attached Storage (NAS)
    The DIC provides training and initial admin support on the use of Synology NAS for file sharing of digitized and office-related documents and continues to monitor these devices to ensure that it functions properly.
  6. UPB Online Payment
    UPB’s online payment is administered by the DIC and the Cash Office through partnership with GCash and Maya. This is supported by the Statement of Account (SOA) system through the UPB EFFORT, also developed by DIC.
