OFFICE OF ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT
- design and implement a continuing program of activities and initiatives for the prevention of sexual harassment;
- undertake information and educational activities to ensure that the University policy, rules, regulations, and procedures on anti-sexual harassment are disseminated and become part of academic culture;
- formulate procedures of such nature as to elicit trust and confidence on the part of interested parties in resolving problems arising from cases or incidents of sexual harassment, including counseling and grievance management;
- coordinate security and support measures to aggrieved parties or victims in sexual harassment cases;
- serve as the secretariat of the ASH Council and Hearing Committees and act as custodian of records;
- prepare and submit an annual report to the Chancellor of the University;
- monitor the implementation of decisions/orders of the appropriate disciplining authority; and,
- perform such other functions which this Code and the Chancellor may delegate.
Service and Programs
- Anti-Sexual Harassment Orientation (ASHO) among all students, student organizations, employees, and contractual non-UP workers (construction workers, canteen concessionaires, security officers, utility personnel, lecturers, coaches)
- Provide orientation to all members of the UP community as provided in Section 30 (Anti-Sexual Harassment Orientation and Clearance Requirement) of the UP ASH Code.
- Attend to reported cases of Sexual Harassment from any member of the UP Community based on Section 16 (Procedures on the Determination of Sexual Harassment) of the UP ASH Code.
- Facilitate Formal Charge for any member of the UP Community based on Section 21 of the UP ASH Code (Formal procedure under the ASH hearing committee)
- Aide in the Appeal of Parties involved following Section 21 of the UP ASH Code
- Refer Parties for Support Services in the Form of Legal Counsel, Housing Assistance, Medico-Legal Services, Counselling and other form/s of Assistance based on Section 13 (Support Services) of the UP ASH Code.
