Linggo ng Unibersidad 2025

The University of the Philippines (UP) will once again celebrate Linggo ng Unibersidad from June 16 to 20, 2025.

With the theme “Ani at Alay: Paglilingkod at Pasidungog sa Bayan,” this weeklong celebration honors UP’s Foundation Day on June 18 and recognizes outstanding individuals and institutions across the UP System who embody the University’s values of honor and excellence in service to the nation.

Opening of Linggo ng Unibersidad

The opening program for Linggo ng Unibersidad will be held during a special flag-raising ceremony that marks the official start of the weeklong celebration.

This momentous event will feature inspiring messages from the chancellors of all constituent universities across the UP System, underscoring unity, academic excellence and public service. The program will also include the much-anticipated announcement of the week’s scheduled activities, highlighting the rich culture, achievements and community spirit of the UP community.

Parangal at Pagkilala para sa mga Kawani at Retirado ng Unibersidad ng Pilipinas

Parangal at Pagkilala sa Kawani at Retirado ng UP System Administration aims to honor the administrative staff, research, extension and professional staff (REPS), and officials of the UP System Administration who are retiring from the university. It also seeks to recognize staff who have served the university for more than 10 years.

The event will likewise honor outstanding individuals and groups who have demonstrated and embodied UTAK and PUSO in the performance of their duties.

Paglalahad ng mga Natatanging Inobasyon ng Mag-aaral

Paglalahad ng mga Natatanging Inobasyon ng Mag-aaral is the demo day and pitch event for student innovators. Initial awardees will present their ventures for potential follow-on funding.

This culminating event provides a platform for student innovators to showcase their outcomes and connect with potential investors, industry partners and beneficiaries of their innovations.

At the end of the event, three student teams will be selected and recognized on June 20, 2025, as the first recipients of the Gawad Pangulo para sa Natatanging Inobasyon ng Mag-aaral.

Pagkilala sa mga Natatanging Alumni na Nagkamit ng Pinakamatataas na Marka sa Licensure Exam

Pagkilala sa mga Natatanging Alumni na Nagkamit ng Pinakamatataas na Marka sa Licensure Exam is a dinner reception recognizing the exemplary performance of UP alumni who achieved top marks in the 2024 board and bar examinations.

This year, the Office of Alumni Relations has invited a total of 254 topnotchers from the 2024 licensure exams. Notably, 16 UP alumni earned first-place distinctions in their respective fields.

UP Foundation Day: UP Symphony Orchestra

Alay sa Pamantasan ng Sambayanan will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the UP Theater in UP Diliman.

This concert by the UP Symphony Orchestra marks a joint celebration of two national milestones this June: the country’s Independence Day and the University of the Philippines’ Foundation Day.

The repertoire includes Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s iconic 1812 Overture, famously featured in the film V for Vendetta. The event is open to members of the UP community and the general public.

Pagkilala sa Fakulti, Kawani, at Mag-aaral na Nagtamo ng Pambansa o Internasyonal na Rekognisyon is part of the Linggo ng Unibersidad celebration and honors UP faculty, REPS, administrative staff, and students who have received national or international recognition for their outstanding contributions.

The event affirms the University’s commitment to its core values—Karangalan at Kahusayan sa Paglilingkod para sa Bayan (Honor and Excellence in the Service of the Nation)—and its mandate to lead in academic excellence and public service.

By celebrating the achievements of the UP community, the event fosters an environment that supports high performance and productivity.

The UP Gawad Pangulo awarding ceremony is the culminating event of Linggo ng Unibersidad. It is the highest presidential recognition given to members of the UP community for their outstanding achievements and contributions that advance the university’s mandate as a leader in public service and academic excellence.

The ceremony celebrates individuals and groups who embody the core values of Honor and Excellence in the Service of the Nation and brings together awardees from across the university’s diverse sectors.

The nomination period for all categories of the UP Gawad Pangulo has officially concluded.
