The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015 to resolve issues on deprivation and inequality while minimizing the impact of climate change and other pressing environmental problems.
Taking the lead in Northern Luzon, and as part of its mandate as a national university, the University of the Philippines Baguio commits to the attainment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through its contribution.

E-WASTE COLLECTION BIN at UP BAGUIO
“If it’s old, broken, unwanted, and ignored, it’s time to let go!”
The University of the Philippines Baguio (UPB) launched its Electronic Waste Management Campaign on June 4, 2025, through a partnership with Smart Communications, Inc., PLDT, City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO)-Baguio, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB). Representatives from UP Circuit, a student organization from UP Diliman, also shared the success stories of their own e-waste campaign.
Through this campaign, the UPB aims to raise awareness and promote responsible e-waste management among the members of the UPB community.
We invite the UPB community to support this initiative by disposing of your personal e-waste items that are old, broken, unwanted, and/or ignored into the designated e-waste bin inside the university.
The collected e-waste will be turned over to the Barangay Bakakeng E-waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility for their proper management.
Let’s work together for a cleaner, greener UPB!
